ISO26262-certified Physical AI simulator, aiSim, adds advanced safety with NVIDIA Halos SAFE

Budapest, Hungary – October 21, 2026 – From the very beginning of aiSim’s development, it has been a fundamental principle for aiMotive to build the platform with safety at its core. As autonomous driving advances toward increasingly complex real-world applications, the ability to develop, test, and validate automotive ADAS & AD systems with clear, measurable evidence of their safety combined with high-fidelity neural-rendered environments is becoming critical. aiSim addresses this need by combining deterministic, physics-based simulation with safety-oriented engineering practices to support the development and validation of automotive systems.

Safety at the Core

At the foundation of aiSim is a deterministic, physics-based, and purpose-built rendering engine that creates repeatable, controllable environments where the same inputs and conditions yield consistent results. This allows engineers to recreate scenarios, compare results, and reliably evaluate system behavior. Based on the laws of physics, aiSim realistically models vehicle dynamics, sensors, and their interactions with the environment, while allowing environmental conditions to be adjusted at runtime, including challenging conditions such as snow, heavy rain, fog, and changing light.

This combination of neural simulation and reproducibility enables large-scale, repeatable validation without relying fully on costly and potentially dangerous real-world testing. aiSim’s proprietary rendering engine and highly optimized sensor simulation support real-time performance, allowing engineers to test complex and hazardous driving scenarios virtually, creating a safer environment for ADAS & AD development and validation.

Built for Virtual Validation

aiSim has been designed with functional safety at its core from the beginning. In 2020, it became the world’s first ADAS/AD simulator to achieve ISO 26262 certification and has maintained it as the platform has evolved, including ISO 26262:2018 certification at Automotive Safety Integrity Level D (ASIL D). Its certification covers aiSim’s physics-based, fully deterministic simulation capabilities and its end-to-end ISO 26262-compliant development process, giving automotive developers a trusted foundation for safety-critical verification and validation.

aiSim and NVIDIA Halos SAFE in Action

These capabilities have made aiSim a trusted simulation platform for leading automotive OEMs and Tier 1s. They also align closely with the safety principles behind NVIDIA Halos SAFE for advancing the safety of physical AI systems.

NVIDIA Halos is a full-stack safety system for building, evaluating, and deploying safer autonomous vehicles and robots. Within this system, Halos SAFE (Safety Assurance Framework for Evaluation) supports repeatable AV safety evaluation by connecting scenario libraries, simulation and KPI evaluators with real-world test results. It helps developers evaluate vehicle safety performance, assess simulation credibility and generate traceable evidence for safety assessments.

Through its integration with NVIDIA Halos SAFE, aiSim helps developers evaluate autonomous driving performance in reproducible virtual scenarios and generate evidence to support safety assessment.
