Python Developer - aiSim

aiMotive began developing its innovative aiSim in the nascent days of simulation in automated driving. Building this expertise has allowed us to create the first ISO26262 certified tool available to the broader automotive industry. TCL 3 enables aiSim to be an integral part of a development and verification toolchain up to ASIL D, ensuring deterministic, realistic, and repeatable testing.

We are looking for a software engineer to join our content team. Our content pipeline consists of various internal and proprietary tools, like Maya, Houdini and Unreal Editor used by 3D and tech artists to create aiSim engine ready 3D simulation environments.

Job summary

  • Design and develop procedural map and environment generation tools based on SideFX Houdini and Unreal Engine
  • Design and develop automated tools to generate synthetic learning data for neural networks
  • Process and import various map formats and standard, like HERE, Open Street Maps, OpenDRIVE
  • Cooperate with technical artists and other aiSim software developers


  • Experience with data processing Python packages like Pandas Geopandas, Numpy Scipy, Pytest 
  • Experience with Data Base systems like ArcGIS, PostGIS, GeoPackage, SQL
  • Experience with serialization file formats and standards, like Google Protocol Buffers, XML, JSON
  • Experience in writing and shipping customer-facing code
  • High standards for code quality, maintainability, and performance. 
  • Willingness to learn new technologies in any area of stack: procedural content creation, complex traffic systems
  • Intermediate level English skills

Considered as a plus

  • Maps, GIS, Computational Geometry
  • Geoinformatics knowledge
  • SD/HD map knowledge
  • C++ skill, Unreal Houdini, OpenDRIVE
  • Experience with automation systems, like Jenkins
  • Knowledge of version control solutions. GIT, SVN
