aiSim2 is powered by AImotive's purpose-built engine for testing automated driving systems. Physically-based rendering ensures the correlation of simulated and real-world testing. Deterministic running guarantees that every scenario is loaded in exactly the same way on each load. aiSim2 is scalable and draws optimal performance from any hardware setup. These characteristics, make aiSim a powerful simulator for self-driving development.

Simulation Powers Development

Automated driving systems require extensive testing before deployment. aiSim2 is tailored to accelerate the development of automated driving. The simulator can operate in two modes. Fixed time step to verify algorithm logic while maximizing hardware utilization. And real-time to support the evaluation of algorithm run times and vehicle behavior and hardware-in-the-loop testing. Modular testing also allows smaller modules to be validated.

Accelerated by Automation

To ensure rapid iteration in self-driving development aiSim includes many semi-automated and automated tools. Scenarios can be generated based on basic templates or modeled based on public road tests. Testing can also be automated with the Test Scheduler to include pre-commit tests, daily or nightly batch tests and full system tests. Automated data collection is available to ensure that the vast amount of data created remains manageable.

Platform Agnostic Scalability

Utilizing the Vulkan® API to maximize flexibility aiSim2 enables execution on a wide range of single and multi-GPU system configurations. Due to the system’s determinism, testing is not affected by the chosen hardware platform. The simulator supports software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing, and industry standards such as OpenSCENARIO, OpenDRIVE, and OpenStreetMap to serve as a flexible simulation solution for our partners.
