Systems Test & Integration Engineer

AImotive is one of the largest independent teams in the world working on automated driving technologies. Developing self-driving software, proprietary simulation tools and neural network acceleration hardware IP, we are building an ecosystem to aid the deployment of automated driving. To catalyse industry collaboration our products are scalable, modular and hardware agnostic. We build on our team’s expertise in artificial intelligence, sensor fusion, 3D graphics and real-world automated driving workloads, developed utilizing our global test fleet, to support partners in realizing their self-driving goals. Our team currently has over 190 members. The company has offices in Mountain View, California; and Yokohama, Japan. The bulk of our development happens at our headquarters in Budapest where a team of 150 highly skilled engineers spearheads our efforts.

Summary

Be part of a small self-driving test team performing a variety of tasks related to preparing the vehicles with sensors and computers, operating autonomous driving software and test driving. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Perform sensor calibrations and sensor integration
  • Install sensors and computers onto vehicle
  • Troubleshoot vehicle and system issues

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Install and operate autonomous driving software
  • Test drive prototype self-driving vehicle
  • Support demonstrations to customers

Key Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent required with minimum 2 years of experience debugging embedded software 
  • Extensive knowledge in Communication Protocols (USB, CAT5/6, CAN, UART, I2C, SPI)
  • Familiarity with ADAS and automotive systems integration and vehicle test protocols
  • Experience operating/debugging prototype SW/HW
  • Able to perform auxiliary tasks such as maintenance of test vehicles, e.g: oil change, battery replacement, regular upkeep of test vehicles, etc. 
  • Ability to comprehend technical documents
  • Proficient written and verbal skills 
  • Team player and independent worker capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to be flexible to perform a variety of tasks and be a quick learner
  • 25% travel required (assuming no Covid restrictions)
  • Clean driving license for at least 3 years

Considered as a plus

  • Automotive/AV experience; startup experience is a plus 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with one or more of the following sensors: cameras, radars, lidars, IMU/GNSS
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with python, C++, able to debug various applications, e.g: proprietary software and third-party software
  • Enrolled in EPN program (if not enrolled must be willing to enroll)
  • Driver training certification from AV company or third-party entity (proof required)
  • Experience presenting to customers and giving demonstrations
