System Engineer

Summary

  • Ensure a common and consistent view of software modules, interfaces and SW architecture
  • Facilitate common understanding between development groups (coordinate systems, transformations, functions, interfaces) and enforce the implementation of decisions
  • Identify areas that need restructuring / refactoring and propose improvements of the software design
  • Maintain a directory of available modules / functions, serving as starting point for developers and to avoid redundancy
  • Define the optimal placement of new functions in the overall SW architecture, advise teams on best SW design practices
  • Derive lower level module requirements from high level requirements, understand the capabilities and limitations of all software modules, identify missing functions or areas that need improvement
  • Support external communication related to the public interfaces of the SDK
  • Design and maintain application architecture and required documentations
  • Create tests and studies for feasibility of HW and SW modules

Key qualifications

  • Excellent understanding of complex real-time systems
  • Hands-on experience of good software design practices
  • Experience with multithreaded systems (parallel and asynchrony)
  • Experience with high availability and critical systems
  • C++ knowledge

Considered as a plus

  • Understanding of the capabilities of imaging and other sensors
  • Experience with artificial neural networks
  • Experience with runtime optimization of software
  • Experience in the automotive industry
  • SysML design experience for static and dynamic architecture model
